Vicki Yost is the former Chief of Police in Inkster, Michigan and a former Deputy Chief of the Detroit Police Department. Chief Yost spent much of her time in law enforcement moving up the ranks from police officer to Deputy Chief in the Detroit Police Department. She is a highly decorated officer with law enforcement experience. In Detroit she was the Commanding Officer of a patrol shift, Gang Enforcement, Vice Enforcement, Tactical Mobile, Eighth Precinct, Southwestern District, Neighborhood Service Bureau (Patrol Operations) and Support Services. Chief Yost has a Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University’s School of Police Staff and Command. Chief Yost also has experience in policy development and was a subject matter expert with the Police Executive Research Forum during her six (6) month fellowship with the police research and policy organization. Chief Yost remained active in policing including patrol, call for service response and arrest activities during her tenure in all ranks including Chief. She is experienced in media relations and communications and has been interviewed countless times regarding a host of policing matters. After decades as a law enforcement professional, Chief Yost has taken her vast experience to the private sector founding Shield Strategic Solutions LLC

▪ Medal of Valor – 2003 (year awarded) – #214 – recognition of hazardous duty performed in peril above and beyond the call of duty of December 29, 2001.

▪ Departmental Citation 2001 – #3527 – identification and apprehension of serial rapist.

▪ Lifesaving Citation 1997 – #1487 – prevention of suicide attempt from Belle Isle Bridge.

▪1996 Composure reserved for veteran officers as she came to the aid of her partner who had been wounded by a dangerous felon.
▪1997 Exceptional alertness and attention to duty in the apprehension of a subject for Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer.
▪1997 Keen observation during routine patrol, apprehension of subject for Violation of the Controlled Substance Act and Fleeing and Eluding
